The information is presented in a very useful format that allows you to see the uses it has. Kelly is able to mold the session and material to the people attending the session. I have now taken 2 seminars about the same information, and Kelly did an excellent job in presenting the information differently to each group (as the group found it useful to them).

Topics are varied. Some ideas are listed below, however Keynote speeches and seminar training is individualized for the topic being presented and the expected audience. Call to discuss topics and get an estimate, (306)728-2075.

“Taking Control!” Seminars – Based on Kelly Karius’s book THIS IS OUT OF CONTROL!, the “Taking Control!” Seminars teach participants how to manage everyday conflict before it can escalate. Because some escalated conflict is inevitable, the sessions teach ways to resolve escalated conflict with the people who matter. The sessions also discuss life situations and circumstances where conflict is likely to be found and/or escalated. The seminars are conducted in an individualized manner, depending on your needs.

Communication Training. Both internal conflict (conflict within yourself) and external conflict (conflict with others) can be assisted through positive communication techniques. Positive communication techniques can be taught in many ways. Because communicating is so important to us, teaching opportunities are peppered throughout all topics.

Assertion Training. Karius & Associates provides communication training in the form of Assertion Training, which helps participants clarify their thinking and learn new ways of phrasing statements and questions to resolve issues of conflict within themselves and with others. Assertion training provides concrete tools, ideas and principles that participants can apply in their own lives to improve relationships.

Stress and Anger Management. Much of stress and anger management training involves principles of good communication. When communication with others is clear, stress and anger reduction is very likely. Stress and Anger Management seminars also include information about relaxing and concrete tools for perception checking in high stress situations, and tools to combat anxiety.

All seminars provide interactive learning with opportunity for practice, and are adaptable to meet your needs.

Build Your Own Seminar. Karius & Associates will work with organizations to provide seminar style and content that is relevant to the agency. Potential topics might include:

  • The Difference Between the Three Communication Styles: Aggressive, Assertive and Passive
  • Conflict and Clients
  • Conflict and Co-workers
  • Styles of Conflict Management in Agencies
  • Cognitive Perceptions
  • Cognitive Reframing
  • Automatic Thoughts
  • Irrational Beliefs
  • Changing Belief Systems
  • Samples of Workplace Codes of Behavior
  • Self Assertion
  • Thought Records
  • Effect of Mental Illness on Communication
  • Anger
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Healthy Relationships
  • Pro-activity Vs Reactivity
